Liberal Democrats welcome Local Plan delay

Local Liberal Democrats have welcomed the decision by Warrington Council to delay work on the Local Plan. Senior Party members, Cllr Bob Barr Leader of the Council Liberal Democrat Group, Cllr Ryan Bate Parliamentary and Planning spokesman and Cllr Ian Marks Former Council Leader and Vice-Chair, South Warrington Parishes Local Plan Group, issued a joint statement:

Statement on Together Energy investment

Warrington's latest investment in Together Energy, by acquiring customers from the failed Bristol Energy, needs more explanation than the Leader of the Council appears willing to give. For the Council's leadership to press on with investing hundreds of millions of borrowed pounds in ventures seen as risky and speculative without adequate explanation is breathtaking.

HOW HIGH IS TOO HIGH? Labour councillors turned down a Liberal Democrat motion at the full Warrington Borough Council Meeting on Monday which would have ensured that all councillors and the public would be consulted on what should be appropriate heights for buildings in the Town Centre.
